Food Insecurity In The Bay Area
1 in 4
Silicon Valley residents do not have consistent access to nutritious food
Almost 700 million people worldwide are going hungry. We need to take quick action to provide the world with sustainable and nutritious food. Food insecurity has serious impacts on a person's well-being, which may result in poor school attendance and performance, lowered workplace productivity, and physical and mental health problems. It is so important that we take this issue seriously and do our part to help those in need!
Covid-19 Impact
Covid-19 has caused many more families to go hungry. Due to lost jobs, many families now depend on food banks for their meals. Most of these families are facing hunger for the first time, and have never relied on food banks before. Food banks are facing an overwhelming amount of new customers because of this.

How Do I Help?
While fighting hunger might seem like too big of a task, there are lots of ways for you to help!
Spread the word and educate others! Many people are unaware of the issue, it's our job to spread awareness of the problem.
Donate to food banks and volunteer your time. See our resources page for places to volunteer.
Reduce your food waste. Almost 40% of the US food supply is wasted each year. Eat locally and donate food you don't need to a food bank.
